There must be something if you choose a grown up man to play high school kid. And I think Yun Gye-sang (ex member of g.o.d), despite his age, really suit the role of Min-jae. You can see that clearly in his act. Here, Yoon is a so-so boy who can't think anything about his future. He have no purpose in life, his grade are bad, but his father want him to follow his track, by being an airplane pilot. So what's ballet got to do with Min-jae's life? It's the first thing that he ever decide to do, by himself. As a good friends, Chang-seob and Dong-wan accompanied him, although reluctant at first. Their parents went mad when knowing their only son has gone 'sissy'. There's also sub part about Min-jae's classmate, Ki-tae who just became orphan. Life is not that good, but you got to live with it, and if possible, do everything you can to enjoy it. Flying Boys tells us a story about boys to men. Its enjoyable, even though the pace is very slow.

This film is good yes, but the only and fatal problem is the stories they chose to focus on. Initially We have a kid by the name of Kang Min-jae, whose story starts of well, with he's main friends carrying a lot of energy and distinctive characteristics, but as the story goes on, it starts to drag, the novelty is lost, and we soon realise this kid is over dramatic, naive, and has a pretty uneventful and lazy life. The other main character being the girl he likes, is plainly a snotty, egoistical girl, possibly the most entertaining scene with her is when she yells at a couple of guys on a bike, they get off, and one of them knocks some sense into her. Now the stories which makes this film actually worth a 30minutes viewing, is that of the kid whose father died, and has to take care of he's brother, he's character, resolve, and he's views on life is very well written and equally acted, as with the main characters friend who is a dancer, their emotions and reactions to their life situations are far more realistic and captivating, than the awkward rants and childish reaction of the main actor and lady. It seems everyone else has a good story to tell, yet sadly it's their uneventful, un-riveting story which gets center stage. It gets to the point you simply want this story to end. If you want an interesting film, with captivating characters, see Daisy, Guns n' Talks, Attack on the gas station, and others, but as for this, if you simply feel like watching the life of a kid who got to the age of 20 far too quickly and as a result has the attitude of your average unlearned 14 year old, go for this,....either way i would advice you make sure the fast forward button on your VCR or Media player are easily accessible.
