Out for a run in the woods along, 16-year-old Christy Palmer witnesses a contract killing and gets a clear look at the executioner. With a passerby's help, she's able to get away and tell the police what she saw. With her identification, Homicide Detectives Reagan West and Boyce are able to apprehend the killer, Karl Harvey, a known drug kingpin. Despite not handling what she witnessed as well as she says, Christy wants to do whatever she can to help put Harvey away, including testifying at his trial. Christy's mother, insurance-company regional-manager Sarah Palmer, isn't as sure about letting Christy testify, fearing for her safety. And this concern is well-founded: as much as West and Boyce try to assure her that they can protect her and Christy, Harvey--aided by unknown outside associates--seems able to thwart the police-protection measures in his attempts to harm or kill Sarah and Christy. Clash of the Incompetents
I alternately burst out laughing and wanted to physically assault my television during this movie. Conveniently stupid victims, incompetent police, and even more incompetent criminals made for absurd situations created by actions no marginally reasonable human being would ever take. If it was just one or two such stupid actions, I could overlook it; but really, this movie just stacks one insulting plot convenience upon another. Incompetent police allow murder suspect to see both eye witnesses inside the police station, but the teen witness's incompetent mother doesn't move to hide her daughter's face from the killer. Oh no--she turns her own face away and leaves her daughter unobstructed so the killer can get a good look at her. Stupid cops leave witness and mother at their own residence after the killer's goons have already threatened them there (with a note made of pasted magazine letters tied to a rock--seriously). Stupid cop guarding house is lured away from the house with a bogus "officer down" call that only Wile E. Coyote would fall for. On and on, the parade of pain never ends. I am forced by my better half to watch these cartoonish movies on Lifetime Movie Network all the time, but this one is probably the worst I've seen in recent memory. It's too bad that Mystery Science Theater 3000 isn't still in production, because this movie was made for it.
I hope when I deleted it after watching, it was completely erased. I would not like it to come back to haunt me.,
I have watched some bad movies in my life but this one is absolutely the worst. Not only is the acting poor and non believable, the movie does not even follow the story line. The best acting in the whole movie was the horse. The fish in Molly's house,or possibly the first victim that was shot. I would have given it a 0 but 1 was as low as I could vote. The police department was a complete joke. Along with their investigation. Even the cell phone tracking was not plausible. Only one single bad guy from the "mob" was convicted. The new neighbor who owned a big ranch and no source of income just played his role with the same silly grin in every scene. I had to go wash my eyes out before I could even write a review.
What a brat!
A teenage girl witnesses a rubout but the cop supposed to protect them is crooked and working with the criminal. As they aren't protecting the girl properly, her mother and her go on the run. Kristy Swanson as the mom is one of the actresses who isn't afraid of looking plastic surgery free and heavier on screen. Kudos to her. The daughter is such an uncooperative character. The story is very obvious from the get go. The ending is formula and predictable. Why did they bother to make this movie - the brat could have written it?

In Ridgewood, Washington, Christy Palmer (Emily Tennant) witnesses a murder in the woods and escapes. She and her mother Sarah (Kristy Swanson) are interviewed by Detective Reagan West and Detective Boyce (Lochlyn Munro). She pick outs contract killer Karl Harvey from the database. He is arrested and her family is harassed. He is released on bail. With the other witness disappearing and their home broken into, Sarah decides to run to a cabin in the Oregon woods. Mother and daughter befriend neighbor Tom Wilcox. This is a Lifetime movie of the week in the women-in-danger series meaning every Lifetime movie. Boyce is far too obvious. There is some drama to have a shocking twist but he takes it all away. Otherwise, this is very standard with very standard writing. It would work better with a less creepy Boyce. This has nothing new. The tension is limited due to its predictability. When West figures it out, she should have put Boyce on most wanted. At the very least, she could notify the locals to send help. After Sarah get contacted, she should be on the run. This is formulaic without much care in the details.
No words to describe how awful
I've seen a few b list movies. You know you take cheap cop movies at face value because they weren't written wit amazing twists and acting. You don't expect award winning plots and complex characters. but this was not just predictable. this was atrocious. I like the actor who plays tom from other movies. I even have seen Lochlyn Monro do some better acting. Swanson's character was appalling. the number of holes in the plot, the major flaws in the police department, too numerous to mention. there is no need for spoiler alert. this movie was spoiled the second it was produced.
