La Nonna can't remember much except her late Italian husband and the fact that she wants to go to Italy with ALL her family before she dies. Most of the family members don't have the time, money and especially can't see the point: "Why bother? She won't remember that we went anyway." -- "Well, if she can't remember let's just tell her we already went." ---Obviously, it's not that easy.

A charming light comedy
This is a delightful, unpretentious story that owes something to the old theatrical tradition of telling a story in which one of the characters - in this case the 'Nonna' of the title - is kept in ignorance of a crucial fact, but the rest of the cast and the audience know exactly what is going on - a type of drama that for many years was a staple in the theatres of London's West End. Its comicality hangs on the contortions the 'in-the-know' characters go through in their kindly efforts to keep up the pretense. The atmosphere of the film - particularly that of the indoor scenes - is rather intimate. Quite the feel-good movie. Recommended for a pleasant afternoon.
My opinion about it
This movie seems like it was made with a home video camera, so the visual quality is terrible. The music is terrible as well. The idea is good. But it could've been a better comedy. If they would've made it into a 10 minute short film it would have worked out very nice. But stretching it just made it boring. Ana Ofelia Murguía's work is excellent 'cause she seems very natural. I liked how they dealt with one of the girls being a lesbian 'cause they didn't make it too obvious or forced. I didn't like the costumes. I don't know how they made everyone to at least try to speak in Italian but that was wonderful. The ending is very touching.
