Ghost Goggles (2016) Reviews

  • Should Disappear

    1. Credits should have listed the high school that wrote, acted, produced this waste of time. Thank you for ff. 2. Really non-existent acting. Poor audio level with no subtitles (sign of cheap) thus difficult to understand dialogue (didn't matter anyway.) 3. Young teen is sent to live with relative who, what was suppose to be jokingly an overacted example of bad surrogate parenting, places him in storage area to live while she lives a gluttonous lifestyle. Teen finds what looks like a pair of old style glasses (note: exaggerated on DVD cover) that gives him the ability to see dead people. This is where it gets really cheap. Ghost people are just regular actors with black makeup around their eyes (I guess that means they're dead.) Ripped off storyline seen a thousand times before of this lad being bullied by larger classmate (and cronies); lad has cute punk girl (you know, stereotyped lip ring, tats, dressed in black, loner) sitting next to him in class so, of course, they become friends. And, of course, she by the end of show looks drops all that to transform into a regular actress attractive student. Forgot, ghosts somehow (how, who knows) can physically interact to play dumb tricks on humans.

  • Worst movie I've ever seen. That is no exaggeration!

I've seen tons of bad movies, from "Birdemic: Shock and Terror" to "A Talking Cat!?!". I love watching imfamous, low-budget films of all sorts. It's sort of a hobby of mine. Ghost Goggles is definitely not one of the "it's so bad it's good" ones, that's for sure. It belongs in the trash heap. It actually was in Walmart's "trash heap" $5 bin only a month after it's release in stores. From the first minute of this movie, you can tell it's going to be terrible. In fact, everything about this movie is dreadful! The sound, the editing, the "plot" (which makes no sense and is all over the place), the music, the makeup, the actors, and of course the god awful acting. The whole frickin' movie, start to finish is a disaster! The characters are also unlikable and the villian (played by a creepy looking guy named, Frezno or something) will give you pedo vibes. There's also some inappropriate humor and tons of language in this film which is clearly aimed at children. Parents, never trust a movie that isn't rated no matter how childish the cover is! If this movie was rated it would probably be PG-13. My words of wisdom for you? Stay as far away as you can from "Ghost Googles"!

  • Not a great movie, but not horrible.

I bought a copy of the movie in the cheap bin at a chain store that is closing; in effect, it is a discounted cheap bin movie. There is nothing original, the acting is awkward, the script is forced, the music is unmemorable, the ghosts' makeup is poorly executed (pun intended), and the filming is cheaply done. Having said all of that, one can get a bit of ironic enjoyment out of the movie. Compared to the movie, Ghost Trap also known as Little Ghost Grabbers (2012), Ghost Goggles is several steps above. The cover of the DVD has a photograph that shows googles on a kid, but the googles in the movie are more Harry Potter style round rim glasses, not goggles; in addition, the kid on the cover does not look like the kid in the movie. There is a kitten in the movie as on the cover. The story is one that might play as a made for TV kids network show. I have seen some say it has inappropriate elements, but I did not see any.
