  Mistloe Over Manhattan is a funny, insightful, heartbreaking, inspiring and revealing story. It brings back the truth of what the real meaning of family and the value that each person brings to the union, using Christmas as its central theme. The message resonates throughout that we can be caught in our own selfish pursuit of success while seeking to find personal satisfaction; yet forget that it is right before us. The story told is not unique in anyway, but one that I'm sure is shared by many. What a better place than New York which represents the hustle and bustle especially during the Christmas season. This is a great Christmas program for the entire family.

• Prediction and Amateurish

  Why is it that the makers of these movies seem dumb down good ideas? In this film a newly separated couple are trying to find a new normal now that their family unit is fractured by a pending divorce. In the mean time up in the North-pole Mrs Claus is trying to get Santa Claus his Christmas Mojo back. Santa now thinks people no longer like Christmas and he isn't wanted or believed in. After sensing her husband is losing his Christmas spirit, Mrs. Claus travels to a place where she knows the spirit of Christmas still exists: New York City. After her arrival in New York City she ends up becoming a nanny. Now what irks me is that this Hallmark film could of been much better. The screenplay to this is terrible. Hallmark should take a lesson from Disney-Pixar about how to produce a good family film. Pixar knows you can have a smart screenplay for a family film and make a movie that children and adults will enjoy. Hallmark however doesn't seem to notice that. I do not fault the actors for this film. The screenplay lacks imagination. I also am tired of the cliché' of divorcing parents getting back together. This is something that never happens in real life. In 1993 the film "Mrs Doubtfire" showed you can have a happy ending to a film without having the parents getting back together. I think if Hallmark invested in better screenplays that might have films that last. "Mistletoe Over Manhattan" is one those films that give Hallmark Movies a bad name...

• Absolutely Magical, Enchanting and Beautiful Story

  Wowee I have never been so in love with a Christmas story. It's truly breathtaking. If you love Santa and his wife this is the film for you! It really shows how important it is to have Christmas Spirit and that is why I love this film. The children are amazing actors and the twist in the plot is so unexpected. The scenery is so Christmassy and will get you right the mood for Christmas. The cat the girl got for Christmas was the cutest cat ever with its little paws the had spread toes and the cute little meow was also a nice, heart warming surprise that will brighten the day of even the most miserable people. Sparky 's jaw line was also on point. I was so happy that the little got his dinosaur digging kit and this will also brighten the day of the most miserable people. In conclusion this film is a feel good family film that I would recommend to anyone.

• Could've/should've been a good film but .......

  I'm with 'lmgannon2on' on this one - Imho - it's the first Hallmark Christmas-film I've seen (hopefully the only one !) featuring a mother who, rather than go Christmas-shopping with her children, prefers to 'stay over' at her boyfriend's ??. She doesn't even attempt to hide the fact from them (AND her husband !) that she's sleeping with the boyfriend , doesn't matter that she's still married !. Then we're meant to accept the hypocrisy of the wife, who originally threw her husband out because he was 'never there for me and the children' due to him working long hours - yet SHE needs to hire a nanny because SHE'S out working long hours (and no doubt, the 'stay over's !) and rarely spends time with the poor kids ? . Plus, a husband (meant to be a cop on the streets of New York) , who spends the entire film teary-eyed, proclaiming his never-ending love for his wife but never shows any sign of emotion/anger over his wife's lifestyle ??. Poorly written and how it gets a 'U' certificate ('Suitable for all) is beyond me !

• Should have been great

  This movie was such a disappointment. It was very well acted and I liked all the characters, especially Mrs. Clause, but the conflict premise was ridiculous. The wife is divorcing her husband because he is too dedicated to his job as a NYC cop and doesn't spend enough time with the family, but she then (for the rest of the movie) proceeds to leave the kids with a babysitter almost constantly during Christmas time because of her own career, not to mention her boss/boyfriend who she is obviously sleeping with without even being divorced first. Talk about double standard, and her boyfriend sure isn't the family type and doesn't want anything to do with her kids! Just ridiculous.
