Starting a new tradition of sex comedy, T & A High School, five boys meet in the detention room thanks to the evil virgin princess Purity Busch. RICK - dressed as a doctor and gave breast exams to the high school new comers. BRENT - sexually teased Purity in French class. MELVIN - caught masturbating in the meat locker. HOWIE - rearranged the mirrors in order to see up the skirts of cheerleaders after practice. And TIM - tricked into entering the girls washroom. Each one fooled by Purity, they want revenge. Each one makes a pact to deflower the virgin, but all have failed. Their only chance is to work together with others of the school to get her at the homecoming game.

Classic 80s Teenage T & A Comedy
You don't go into this one expecting Shakespeare, folks. You expect first off, a little skin, and if you are lucky, a lot of skin. You expect broad locker-room type sex jokes. You expect that someone will be sexually humiliated at some point ( a must in the genre ). You expect all the cliques at your high school to be wildly parodied. You expect teachers to be portrayed as Nazis. You go in expecting all this and this film delivers. This movie was made just before video broke big time. Thsi was one of the early hits and many video hounds from way back can fondly look back as this being a rental they enjoyed. Check brain at the door and enjoy. It's all done in s spirit of goofy sexy fun and that is the spirit it needs to be seen in. Would make a great double feature with "Porky's".

As a classy movie this one rates a 0 - but as a fun frolicking teenage sex romp it is unquestionably a 10! I would have to say that this is a classic of the genre and I must agree with the other comments that have been made here (and totally disagree with Leonard Maltin). If you like this type of raucous fluff and you're into a titty movie that isn't a full-on porno, this just might be what you're after. They definitely don't make them like this anymore, pity really, they were lots of fun and every boy's dream.
Almost exactly what you'd expect
After I finished watching this, I checked the description, and saw that it was described as being the "granddaddy of teen sex movies." It seems hard to describe it that way when it was released in 1983. There's a very minimal amount of plot to the movie. In fact, it seems strange for a movie that is so laser-focused on having a series of sex gags back to back. If I were back in 7th or 8th grade, I would absolutely love this movie. I would have found it hilarious, and probably pretty erotic. But as an adult, I didn't find it terribly funny. In fact, this is one of the strangest movies I've seen. Usually, in a teen sex movie, there's a serious plot of some sort. There will be a romance, there will be some sort of lesson learned. There will be someone struggling to pass a class... This one doesn't. This one is so singularly focused on just providing one titillating moment after another. There's only a single character who isn't fully sex-obsessed, and that's a teacher that has been bound in a wheelchair. Most of the other teachers are portrayed as being anti-sex, although later, they are shown to be just as obsessed as the core cast is. There are a few things that are memorable, but ultimately, the movie is an example of what happens when you pull all of the heart out of a movie. It narrows the audience that will enjoy it.

as i said in the other comment screwballs is one of my favorite movies of all time. mainly because of how funny,and entertaining it is. screwballs is the best sex comedy of all time! i grew-up on watching this movie. even though i couldn't understand a lot of jokes i still for some reason liked it back then. now i understand all the jokes,and laugh at all of them. it's a movie set in the 1960s. the movie is about five guys at a high school full of weird,and sex-craved people. the five guys kind of make a pact to get a shot at the only virgin in their high school. purity bush in all her glory. the five guys are pretty much all different. they include a guy who's always bouncing a small ball on the ground where ever he goes,a guy who's always carrying around a tennis racket,an over weight guy who's always masturbating,a nerdy guy who's always scaming ways to look under girl's dresses or to get them to fall for him in weird ways. and finally a new guy in school who's really not much of a stereotype. all the characters are very funny. they all try to get a shot at purity. every time they try to get her is very funny. it's not for everyone,but it's a must-see for anymore who loves sex comedies. i give screwballs ***1/2 out of ****

They don't make movies like Screwballs anymore that's for sure. Those late 70's to mid 80's teen sex romps that defied all class in order to aim for crassness. I've heard a lot about Porky's and I've seen it. But Porky's can't touch Screwballs on pure senseless nudity. Nudity for the sake of nudity even. At 80 min this has to be the most hooterlishous non pornographic movie in all of existance. The plot is actually for five horny guys to get a look at the prom queens breasts. Why? Because hers are the only ones you don't see on a regular basis in the rest of the movie. But we all know what the real plot motivator is, to get to the next set of naked breasts. Watch especially for hidden jokes, sight gags, and odd misplaced sound effects that make this one of the most baked experiences out there.
